The ICC World Cup 2023 trophy is set to arrive in Pakistan on September 5
Posted by: Ayesha Shoukat - 09-04-2023, 05:06 PM - Forum: Sports - Replies (1)

The ICC World Cup 2023 trophy, as part of its global tour, is set to arrive in Pakistan on September 5, according to sources familiar with the matter. Initially scheduled for a five-day visit from July 31 to August 4, the trophy’s tour was delayed due to uncertainties regarding Pakistan’s participation in the event. It is expected to have a brief two-day stay in Lahore, concluding on September 6.
During its short visit, the ICC World Cup 2023 trophy will tour historical landmarks, as well as shopping malls and educational institutions in Pakistan. This tour aims to engage cricket enthusiasts and build excitement for the upcoming ICC World Cup.
The ICC World Cup 2023 is slated to kick off in India on October 5, featuring ten teams competing for the coveted title. The trophy’s visit to Pakistan serves as a reminder of the global cricketing event and celebrates the sport’s fervent following in the country.
It’s worth noting that the Pakistani government recently granted approval for the national cricket team’s participation in the ICC World Cup 2023, ending months of uncertainty. The controversy emerged when India declined to tour Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023, citing security concerns, which raised questions about Pakistan’s visit to India for the World Cup.

If you're considering staying at Wanderlust Hotel in Arengkel, Kashmir Attention!!

🏨 **Attention Tourists**:
If you're considering staying at Wanderlust Hotel in Arengkel, Kashmir, it's important to be aware of some concerns. I recently stayed at this hotel and booked 2 rooms, which cost me Rs. 51,500 for 2 days (a standard room and a deluxe room). It is the most expensive hotel in the area. The standard room is essentially a couple's room that has holes in the ceiling, which is morally wrong. Even the hotel staff, standing above the rooms, were laughing, chattering, and behaving in a disruptive manner, making it really difficult to rest and sleep comfortably. There are other concerns as well, such as poor hotel management and unprofessional staff who don't know how to handle and communicate with customers. The WiFi is also a major issue; they only have one WiFi device with poor signals and almost no service. Moreover, the hotel staff took the device with them to the kitchen area. The most significant concern, however, is the delayed food service. On the first day, they served the food on time as promised (within 1.5 hours). However, on the next day, I was served after 5 hours, which led me to lose my temper and complain to their upper management. Unfortunately, the upper management was uncooperative, offering only apologies. Therefore, if you are considering staying at this hotel, I would strongly recommend reconsidering your decision and choosing another option for your stay.

I recently discovered B&B Grocery, Meat & Deli based on a FB article about the best sandwiches in Des Moines. I ordered their specialty Zach’s Killer Italian sandwich. It was loaded with rotten lettuce! Not to mention the store looks like it’s never been cleaned and half of their freezer cases appear to be out of order. I won’t be going back!!!

Saudi Aramco considers selling $50 billion in shares: WSJ
Posted by: M owais sher - 09-01-2023, 07:16 PM - Forum: Business - Replies (20)

Saudi Aramco considers selling $50 billion in shares: WSJ
Saudi Aramco is considering selling a stake worth as much as $50 billion through a secondary share offering on the Riyadh bourse after consultations with advisers, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.
The sale could happen before the end of the year, the report said, adding that Aramco has been “sounding out” potential investors, such as other multinational oil companies and sovereign-wealth funds, about participating in the deal.
The Kingdom has decided to host any new Aramco offering on the Riyadh exchange to avoid legal risks associated with an international listing, the report said, citing Saudi officials and other people familiar with the plan.
Aramco boosts dividend as Q2 profit drops 38pc to $30.1bn
Saudi Aramco did not immediately respond to a Reuters’ request for comment.
Saudi Aramco is the world’s biggest oil company, with a market value of $2.25 trillion. Its shares have risen 19.6% this year.
The company completed the world’s largest initial public offering in late 2019, raising $25.6 billion and later selling more shares to raise the total to $29.4 billion.
Saudi Arabia had planned in addition to sell Aramco shares worth up to $50 billion last year, but decided market conditions were unfavourable, the Journal said.
Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the kingdom’s de facto ruler, in January 2021 said that Saudi Aramco would sell more shares, with proceeds used bolster the country’s main sovereign wealth fund.
“There will be Aramco share offerings coming in the coming years, and this cash will be transferred to the Public Investment Fund,” said Prince Mohammed, speaking at the kingdom’s Future Investment Initiative conference.
The Public Investment Fund, which sometimes receives government injections of cash, spent 120 billion riyals ($32.00 billion) domestically last year as it sought to implement an ambitious economic agenda to wean the economy off oil by building new industries.
The fund, which manages about $700 billion in assets, made a total comprehensive loss of 58.545 billion riyals ($15.61 billion) last year, according to its annual report published last month.
Also last month, Aramco announced an additional dividend of nearly $10 billion, most of which will go to the government, in the first of several extra payouts on top of its expected $153 billion base dividend for 2022 and 2023.
It reported a 38% decline in second quarter profit to 112.81 billion riyals from the year earlier period.
